Rebecca A. Blumen is a stone and glass sculptor living in San Francisco, California. To complement her stone carving, Becca also blows glass and creates glass sculptures. She has a degree in Visual Arts from Hampshire College and an MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute. Becca entered the art world at age 17 as a black & white photographer. Her portfolio earned her a scholarship to college based on artistic and academic promise. Becca's background in photography trained her eyes and taught her composition. Her experience in film added movement to her photography. Stone sculpting has taken her art from 2-D to 3-D, adding touch and texture, which allow the viewer to have a more intimate interaction with her art. Becca has studied stone sculpting with Karen Ryer, Robert Milhollin, and Matt Auvinen.
